Present

With the program «Present», the Mizmorim Festival places an important emphasis on contemporary music. The festival alternate each year between  a Composer-in-Residence program and the Mizmorim Composition Competition. Additionally, the Festival also regularly commissions compositions for different ensembles and presents Swiss premieres.

Composition Competition

THE 3RD MIZMORIM COMPOSITION COMPETITION

The Mizmorim Composition Competition has been held every two years since 2019. Composers from Switzerland or people who have lived here for at least three years and who are not older than 40 at the time of the call for entries can take part in the competition. In addition to prize money, the winner will be commissioned to write a composition of around ten minutes, which will be premiered at the Mizmorim Festival.
Recently, the competition jury (Beat Furrer, Chen Halevi and the Gringolts Quartet) made their decision and chose the young, Lausanne-based composer Victor Alexandru Colțea as the winner.
